Project Background: Birganj Round Table No. 3 started the Project in 2005. As part of the 11 Schools for Nepal in partnership with RT Germany, we built 5 Classrooms, 1 Office Room, 1 Kitchen, 4 Toilets and a Boundary wall for this school which was being run in a hall which had leaking roofs and broken floors. The 5 classrooms were being conducted in the same hall without any partitions!! The toilets had no pots and the children just peed on the floor!!
In 2009 we built 2 more Classrooms on the First Floor and one staircase in Partnership with RT Belgium.
In 2010 we built 1 Classroom and 1 Office Room in Partnership with Euro 3 Meeting 2010, Luxembourg!!
On 16 May, 2011 we inaugurated and handed over 2 more Classrooms. This was done by Steve Ganado, President, RT International in the presence of Malin Arneius, President, Ladies Circle International.
These 2 Classrooms have been built out of our own Fund raising!!
Also the Boundary Wall was shifted to ensure a larger play area for the children of the School.
Previous Project
Experience: We have done the Project very successfully so far apart from one other school in a village about 5km from Birganj.
Expected result: We will be educating children from Nursery to Class 12. This school is for underprivileged children whose parents cannot afford to send them to school. Most of the children are Part Timers because they attend school on some days and work as domestic helps on the rest of the days.
Who is involved? Round Table Nepal and Birganj Round Table No. 3.
Own Commitment: Our Tablers will be supervising the construction and we will put in 50% of the Contribution for the Project.
(Time/Money)
Reporting on Progress: We will provide regular, monthly Progress Reports with photographs.
